Get The Most Out Of The Marketing Perks That Come With Your Web Hosting Package – Even When Your Site Isn’t Monetized

Getting a web hosting package for your new blog is generally a good idea. While you can host blogs for free with things like WordPress and Blogger, this doesn’t allow you to have your own domain and can look a bit amateurish. Web hosting, to the extent you need for a personal blog, an affiliate marketing blog or a blog for a certain niche, doesn’t need to cost more than a few dollars a month; you often get a lot of interesting and helpful perks that can help you make your site better.

These perks generally include things like page design tools, add-ons and analytics services, however what many web hosts now give their new users are packages for website promotion, and these can add real value to your hosting.

What Kind Of Marketing Perks Do Hosts Offer?

You will usually get a certain amount of free credit for Google AdWords, Facebook Ads, or other popular targeted advertising services. These tend to range from about $50 in total value to $200, and that can actually get you quite a lot of advertising. While these are offered as an incentive for you to choose a given web host and also to allow you to try out these advertising services, to give you an idea of whether it is worth paying for them in future, a lot of people don’t take full advantage of them.

This might be because they don’t understand how they work, or because they think that because their personal blog or niche site isn’t selling anything there is no reason to have what would normally be paid advertising.

Why You Should Always Use Your Marketing Credits

While web hosting isn’t expensive (assuming you haven’t opted for a super dedicated hosting server for some reason!), it is still an investment you have made in your new site, so by not using all of the things that come with it you aren’t getting the best value.

Also, even if you haven’t got a specific product to market and you aren’t monetizing your site, you still surely want to get as much traffic as you can from your target audience, even if just to know that the people you think would be interested in what you’ve written are finding it.

The kind of advertising you can do with Facebook Ads and Google Ad Words using your marketing credits gives you an opportunity to reach people who are likely to be interested in what you have to say. This could mean that you target people in your local area, people with certain interests that they have expressed through their Facebook likes, or people who have been searching for or talking about certain keywords.

Look for hosting packages that offer competitive marketing bonuses, and make sure you use them in their entirety. This can really help kick start your blog or site by giving you an initial boost in traffic, and hopefully winning you a few people who will become regular readers.

Five Android Apps For You And Your Dog

People love their dogs – really love them.  So, it is not surprising that there are smartphone apps to help owners learn about dogs and dog ownership.  Additionally, these apps make it easier to do things with your dog, such as training sessions.  Instead of having to find your whistle or your clicker, then figure out what you are doing to teach your dog, you can simply grab your smartphone and go if you have these apps installed. There are several apps available for Android that will help owners keep up with the latest information on training, feeding, and caring for their dogs so they can become more informed about their dog and make good decisions for both of you.

Dogs A-Z (Rare Exception) – A veritable encyclopedia of dog breeds in your hand, this app allows users to access information about hundreds of breeds from their smartphone.  Both common and unusual breeds are included in the database which is a help when visiting a dog show or a shelter looking for the perfect pet.  Users can filter their results which saves a great deal of time when looking for specific information.  Each entry provides a photo of the breed and information about the dog’s size, coat, origins, and alternate names.  With beautiful color photos that show a strong representation of the breed standard, this app is a good learning tool for the dog owner or dog lover.  Kids will also enjoy using this app as the information is presented in an accessible and fun manner.

Download From Google Play

Dog Food Recipes (ItaliaMultimedia)– For the owner who loves to pamper their dog or for owners with dogs that have allergies or conditions that require a special diet, this app gives users access to a variety of recipes that will teach you to make your own dog food.  Many people are beginning to see the benefits of feeding a “natural” diet which is food that is based on using real meat and vegetables as the basis for food.  The recipes are easy to follow and contain ingredients that will make your dog happy and healthy.  While there is no portion size mentioned for the recipes, users can experiment with the recipes in order to make more or less as needed.  Dogs with food sensitivities or special food needs will benefit from owners having access to a variety of recipes that would meet those needs.  Volunteers at dog shelters and rescues can also benefit from this app as it would give them more options when feeding their wards.

Download From Google Play

Dog Whistler (Mobeezio) – Dog whistles, whistles emitting sounds beyond the human range of hearing, have been used as a training aid for years.  However, many people have trouble keeping track of their whistle, particularly off the training field.  There are times when you are off the training field that you need your whistle but it is impractical to wear it around your neck of have it in your pocket all the time.  Also, whistles get lost, which can be particularly frustrating if you are in the middle of a training exercise.  This app allows dog owners who use a whistle for training purposes to have access to it at all times on their smartphone.   Simply enter the frequency you want to use and the duration in order to tell your dog what you want.  You can use different frequencies and durations for different behaviors – just as you would with a traditional training whistle.  However, the app is more controlled and the whistle will sound the same every time.

Download From Google Play

DogFoodInfo (Techworks Technologies) – Every dog eventually gets into something, usually “people” food, which may or may not be healthy for them.  It can happen very quickly and owners usually catch them in the act – after they have already eaten even a small amount of the questionable food.  Dog are scent driven hunters so if they find something that smells appealing, they will very likely eat it.  This app allows owner to quickly access information about many different foods and plants that are both safe and unsafe for dogs to eat.  The entries are full of good, understandable data and information about how a dog will look or act after ingesting a food that is dangerous to them.  The app also gives owners first aid instructions and guidance on what to do until the dog can be taken to the vet for full treatment.

Download From Google Play

Dog Training Clicker Time (Growling Software) – Clickers, like whistles, have been used in training for many years.  Dogs that are particularly sensitive to sounds may be more comfortable if their owner uses a clicker for a training aide instead of a dog whistle.  Other animals, such as horses, cats, and some birds, also can be trained to respond to a clicker where they cannot be trained to respond to a dog whistle.  A clicker is just that – a small device that emits a clicking sound that tells the dog what command needs to be followed.  As with whistles, one of the problems people encounter with using a clicker is keeping track of it or having it when you need it off the training field.  This app allows users to have their clicker right on their smartphones so it is never too far out of reach.  While the app seems very simple, in the hands of someone who is training their dog, it is a valuable tool that facilitates communication between owner and dog.

Download From Google Play

Dog owners generally are on the lookout for new training and care tips.  When they can get the information and tools they seek in a convenient, easy to access way, they are able use it quicker and in more places than if they had to look it up on a laptop or computer at home.  Apps for dog owners provide information and ways to interact with your dog that will help create a stronger bond betwee dog and owner as well as a happier, healthier pet.

This article will help you increase awareness for your mobile apps

Let’s face it. Mobile app development and mobile marketing are still relatively new areas that need fine tuning. These are areas not yet fully explored and utilized so it is understandable if you are still struggling to make it work.

A lot of generic ads are out there. The most common is ‘download x app now’. People have learned to ignore this kind of app. Why? Well, the first question that will come to mind is why? Why should I download this app? What’s in it for me? What will it to do to make my life easier? How will it help me? The ad clearly does not address these questions. So what can you do to make your product get noticed? Here are a few tips.

Find the right audience

Review blogs are a good choice to get close to your target audience. If you have a beta product, you can ask these bloggers to review your app. Ask them to rate your product. It’s good if your product is still in the testing stage as you can still fix the bugs. Having different people review your product gives you more ‘eyes’ to spot errors. When launch time comes, you can be sure that your product is ready.

Use social media

If the bloggers have given you a good rating, spread the word through social media. Share a link to these reviews on your Facebook page. Tweet about it. If you can make a good photo presentation, pin it on Pinterest. You can also hold contests in cooperation with the bloggers to generate more attention. You can give away 5 apps for free for each blogger. Make rules such as they have to ‘Like’ your Facebook page, they have to follow you on Twitter and Pinterest and they have to be a follower of that specific blogger. Make sure that the blogger also has some benefits so that you can have a good working relationship.

Another way of generating traffic is to write an article about your app and share it with other bloggers who are willing to post your content for free. You can then put a link to your download page, Facebook page or a blogger’s review page at the end of your article.

Make good advertisements

Don’t be lazy with your ads. Stay away from generic ones like the one mentioned above. Give your customers something that they can relate to, something they can use. Make your ads appealing enough to warrant a click on the download button.

At the end of your advertisement, place a link that directs your customers to your download page. Don’t dilly dally with more unnecessary words. The client already hit the download button so he or she does not need any more convincing. He or she is already convinced that you have a good product and they are willing to try it.

Content marketing is a good way to earn trust and gain a credible reputation in cyberspace. You already know that you have a good product. It’s just a matter of finding the right venue for you to be heard.

I hate to bash an app, but Study Success get’s a fail.  I’m sure somebody spent some good time and hard work developing Study Success, but Study Success is pretty much just a glorified 45 minute timer with silly options.  You start the timer, then the “Get Your Study On Screen” pops up and it counts down for 45 minutes.  After the timer starts, you have 3 options to pause, check timer or stop.  Pause allows you to go back to the main screen and access the other options such as going to the Resources or Checklist page.  You can resume the timer by pressing “resume”.  ”Check Timer” will go back to the main page for a few seconds to check the timer.  ”Stop” will stop the timer.

The resources page has preset links to Wikipedia.org, Dictionary.com, Thesaurus.com, Encyclopedia.com, Sparknotes.com, How-To-Study.com and Study Guides & Strategies.  There’s no way to add, edit, or delete links.

The Checklist page is unnecessary and a joke.  There is no way to edit the checklist.  The checklist consists of:
Find a Relatively Quiet Spot
No IM, No Texting, No phone
Turn Volume Down To A Murmur
Is The Temperature Comfortable
You Have All Your School Supplies?
Get A Beverage Before Starting
Are You Hungry? Eat First!

Study Success might be more useful if the links and checklist could be modified.  I wouldn’t even use this for free and definitely not for .99.

Developer: Ivan Trusov

If I had a little 2 – 4 year old, I would totally get the kid to start playing around with this app. Then they can be like one of those smart little Asian kids who ruin the curve for everybody else in math. Oh wait, I’m Asian, so my kid probably won’t need this because they will naturally be smart at math.

Kids Number and Math offers 7 mini games to learn math principles. It ranges from the really simple like counting numbers to more advanced like adding and subtracting numbers. Each game has nice bright colors and big numbers.

As I previously stated in another review, I’m not letting a little kid touch my phone, so I’m going to try to get into the mind of a little kid and guess what they would think of Kids Numbers and Math. Each game on it’s own is entertaining, but with only 1 or 2 games on each math principle, a kid may get bored of it easily. For instance, the 1st game is on counting numbers. Then the next is to choose the min and max numbers. But after those 2 games, there’s nothing else on counting. So a kid would have to start adding and subtracting numbers before they start playing the other games. Other games include one game focused on subtracting, one on adding, and one on adding and subtracting, and a match numbers game.

The individual games are good and nicely done.  There’s not too much clutter on the screen to distract young children from focusing on the math at hand.  The spacing of objects  is good for clumsy little fingers.

Not a bad app to learn math but it would be better if there we’re more games focused on the different principles.

As for my kid, I’m going to throw an abacus at him, and he’ll be doing calculus by the time he’s 3.
