For a while I was addicted to Words With Friends. I would play 10 plus games at the same time. Every few minutes I would have to check if somebody played a word. I realized Words With Friends was taking way too much of my time. I had to cut myself off from playing Words With Friends.

The first few versions of Words With Friends for Android was really buggy. The game would crash. I’d get logged out of games. Some games would not get updated. Sometimes I’d lose my games and the only way to get them back would be to uninstall Words With Friends and then reinstall it. The games seems to be pretty stable now though. All the previous issues seems to be fixed.

It’s cool you can play Words With Friends cross platforms. I played with many friends using iPhones. It’s a good way to learn words you would have never known. I would just make up words and tried to see if they worked. It’s amazing how many 2 letter words are valid.

Just like Scrabble. Beware of playing Words With Friends. It might consume you!

Ever want to own an aquarium without the hassle of changing the water, worrying about pH balance and flushing your dead fish down the toilet?  Tap fish is a colorful and beautifully animated virtual aquarium.  There’s crazy different types of sea creatures and decorations to purchase!  You can breed fish to make different types of fishes.

The sea creatures need to mature before you can sell them.  They can take a few hours to a few days to mature.  When starting out the game, it will take a few days before you can sell enough fish for money to buy anything substantial, unless you want to purchase “Fish Bucks” from Gameview Studios.

One of the best things about Tap Fish is the incredibly detailed animation.  From the fishes, to the backgrounds, to the rocks in the tank, they all look spectacular. The bubbles even look and sound real.

One negative, is it force closes once in a while when opening. If it force closes, just try to load it again.  Hopefully they fix this issue.

Domino Run is an awesome puzzle game where the challenge is to topple all the dominoes as long as the blue “finisher” domino falls last. Domino Run features multiple background settings such as “Mayan Jungle” and “Pyramids”. Each setting consists of multiple levels where different types of dominoes are available. The dominoes perform various functions, like hard blocks that make other dominoes bounce off them, dominoes that keep tumbling and tumbling, and dominoes that’s create bridges. It’s a cool concept for a puzzle game and can get quite difficult. With loads of levels and multiple types of dominoes, this game will keep you entertained for hours. There’s a great restore option also, so you don’t have to set up your dominoes every time you fail a level.

Replica Island is a robotastic game. I wouldn’t expect such a great game to be free. The graphics are awesome. The game play is excellent and long. Use the trackball or keyboard to move around. Tilt the phone to control a psychic ball.

It’s not just a mindless game of trying to get the all the jewels. Some levels require specific sequences to open doors to be able to get to the jewels. There’s also a story line behind acquiring the jewels. The non-linear story telling time line is an innovative way to tell the story.

There are a couple bugs. Some times the rocket boosters get stuck. Once in a while Android the robot will be stuck in part of the screen for a few seconds. But over all, the game is fairly bug free. Can’t expect anything more for being free without ads!

This game gets addicting and has improved my vocabulary by leaps and bounds.  Now I can use words like “eth”, “sot”, “shote” and “git. As in “The git talketh like a sot and squealed like a shote”.  (Funny these words didn’t pass my spell checker.  I guess the spell checker doesn’t use the OSPD dictionary)

The game is played by running your fingers across the letters to create words.  The letters you touch will show up on the bottom of the screen.  Every time you create a word, those letters will turn blue, and you get a point.  Usually I’m able to create words by selecting random letters.  That’s how I get most of my points, and in the process learn new words that I will  use to sound superior to my idiotic friends.  The scoring can be set to “Just points” or “Points as % of total”.  If you get frustrated with looking for new words you can press the menu and finish the game.  Once the game ends, you can “Show All Words” to display all the words on the board and their definitions.

There’s a lot of options on this game.  Some of them are:

I’ve found it impossible to get all the words.  The best I was able to do was get 70 % of the words on a 4 x 4 board with a 10 minute time limit.  At first I thought a 3 minute time limit was too short of a game, but as I started playing it more, I kept increasing the times of the games.  As the times increased I got more frustrated at not being able to find 100 % of the words.  I fear I’m getting more addicted to this game and will keep increasing the time to unlimited in effort to find 100 % of the words.  Which if that happens, I will be forced to sue Anthological for ruining my life with this addiction.

One option missing is being able to save the current game.  If you get out the game by pressing the home button, it will pause your game.  If you go back to the game without running any other process, it will return to the current game.  But if you run any other process and then come back to WordUp, it will restart with a new game.

Since I’ve been using Brain Genius Deluxe, I’ve gone from slightly mentally disabled to adequate intellect.  My next goal is to keep on using Brain Genius Deluxe and get to above average smarts!

Brain Genius Deluxe is an entertaining set of games sorted into 4 different categories, Observation, Memory, Calculation, and Reasoning, with 3 levels, Junior, Master and Genius.  You set up a profile and depending on how you perform on the games you’re brain rating goes up or down.  There’s a “daily exercise” option which creates a set of 4 games, 1 in each category, at your current brain level.  You can access this “daily exercise” option once a day.  If you do well enough, you may advance the game levels.

Or you can choose to play a “single exercise” in which you choose the category and game you want to play.

Each category has 6 games for a total of 24 games, at 3 different levels.  Most of the games are pretty entertaining and only last a few minutes.  The controls can get a little clumsy at times with the touch screen since you’re always working against a time clock, I’ll tend to make mistakes trying to point to something too quickly.  Some games use the accelerometer and some times those controls don’t seem to be very accurate either.

I’m pretty surprised Brain Genius Deluxe is a free download.  I would have expected to have to pay for such a good app.  Great graphics and great game play.   Thank you Glu Mobile for making this free.  This is definitely a winner.

Sudoku free is a very entertaining Sudoku game. The display is well laid out and entry of the numbers is easy. The extreme level can be quite challenging, and there have been puzzles that have taken me hours to solve.  Either that, or I’m a horrible Soduku player.  One of the best features in this game is it automatically saves your game when you exit out of the game at any time.   This is great for me, because when most people are surfing the web during their time in the bath room stalls at work (you know you do it), I’m playing Sudoku, and there’s no way I’m finishing a game in the time I take to finish my business.  So it automatically saves, and when I go back to playing Sudoku, I just use the “Load Last” feature, and that loads the last game I was playing.

If you’re looking for a free Sudoku game, I’d highly recommend this one.
